How do I love John and Peter's? Let me count the ways:

I have met many different bands and interesting people there.
I actually care about the people who work there, one of the servers is a good friend.
Two words - Red Rover.
I have been allowed in the "employees only" area upstairs.
I have memorized the graffiti in the mens' room.
They really give a crap about the customers and performers.
I have been allowed to stay there after 2:00.
You can come in anytime after 12:45 and not have to pay the cover.
Ween, George Thorogood, Iron Butterfly, Penn & Teller (when they were Asparagus) and Tiny Tim, among other famous artists, have performed there.
It's a grungy, dark, hole-in-the-wall. And I like it that way.
