Triumph Brewing Company - 12/31/05Catapilla's New Year's Rockin' EveWhat was my New Year's Eve like? Well, this one started with Polymer at Triumph in New Hope, who I hadn't seen since October. They timed the show almost perfectly, with a short break to have a countdown and a rendition of Auld Lang Syne. It was nice to see Candice and our friend Nicole again so soon. It got more crowded around the stage as it got closer to midnight and it was more difficult to take pictures. After we watched the ball drop, popped balloons and broken plastic champagne glasses littered the restaurant. I bid quick goodbyes to the group and hurried off to John and Peter's to catch the end of their Red Rover New Year's party run and DJed by my other friend Josh. Once there, I noticed the red vinyl covering the walls and tables and the phrases written with black marker by some of the patrons. There were plenty of decorations from Halloween and Christmas lying around which was odd but made for a nice retrospective of the past year. I was pleasantly surprised to see Larry and Courtney from Future 86 there on their break. Their last scheduled performance at the venue was cancelled so Josh and I hadn't seen them since August. We helped clean up after closing and headed over to Josh's house with a few other friends that were crashing there. We watched a Cure concert and had a good time before most of us got tired. I got home a bit earlier than the last time I stayed over. That's my New Year's Eve in a nutshell.
