Lost Songs

These songs are "lost" for a few reasons. Almost all of their source albums are no longer in print. Broadcast radio no longer plays many of them. People are starting to forget they were ever hits. It seems the only way songs like these can come back into the public consiousness is if they are used in movies, commercials, or are covered by other artists. Music lovers like myself are the only ones who can keep these songs from being lost forever. We can petition the owners and distributitors to reissue or post them online, or (if they don't seem to care anyway) share them on MP3 blogs or through file-sharing services. We should help them realize that they could make money (that's something that can get their attention) from these songs again. We must speak for the artists who created these songs and give them more credit for their contribution to music history (plus some more royalties). They deserve that much.
