John and Peter's - 5/26/06

During the second opportunity to see Future 86 in less than a month, everything felt right. Jessica was there, taking the mantle of their second biggest New Hope fan by finally accepting the name change (from Pretty Suicide) and receiving an updated shirt. Not everything was smooth though - there were some problems with Courtney's wireless mic that messed up her vocals on the first four songs. Fans waited with bated breath while Josh, Courtney and a few other people played with the soundboard. In the meantime Ron took over vocal duty for two songs. He also got to showcase his singing chops on two new covers,"Wild Thing" and "Jessie's Girl" which was dedicated to our favorite waitress. The second set began with a suprise: Acoustic Future 86! Two covers and an original got the unplugged treatment. The band passed out shakers, cowbells, kazoos, and tamborines; the audience actually followed the tempo quite nicely. Yours truly kept a tamborine and played it when the rock got harder again. No sleeping over Josh's this time, I had to be better rested for Mouth Of Wilson the next night.
