The Red Stallion - 5/20/05

An Better Stallion Mix

Unlike my last visit to the Red Stallion, I personally enjoyed most of the acts. It made me feel much better about going there and maybe seeing some of them again. (note - the Pheromones ended up being the band I saw again, can you guess why?)

First up was the Flu who had a solid rock sound.
The Tiddies, who were really interesting, played soulful rock but I couldn't get over the not-quite PC name of the group.
Kitty Kat Dirt Nap coupled Simple Plan-like angst with a piercing synthesizer that probably explained their name. As far as I know they do not advocate the killing of kittens.
Metroplex's leader did sound like Robert Smith of the Cure, but swung his bass guitar around like Nikki Sixx; I think that's also the best way to describe the group.
