Abilene - 4/21/06

It had been six long months and their local vocal stylings had been playing in my head and on my computer. The night was almost here - the time had come to see Blue Sinatra again. They were back at Abliene but some things had changed. New songs and demos had been born and Mr. Adam was estranged from the group. Oh well, it wasn't like I hadn't seen that happen before and I am no longer suprised. Anyway, the guys were happy to see me and there was plenty to catch up on. They played last so we got to enjoy the other groups and the playoff hockey action on the televisions in the club. To cover for the missing trumpet, Kyle used pedal effects to double his sax sound. Even with that, it was a solid show. Dan and Kyle took turns at the keyboard when the King of Rhyme jammed on guitar. This time, the interlude for "Unicron" featured both band and audience banging with metal spoons, bowls, ladles and strainers. A few got pretty dented up. The performance ended not with a bang but a hiss; Silly String sprayed all over the place. It was good that I got back to South Street for two straight shows but with the gasoline prices the way they were I wouldn't be back for a while.
