Finn McCool's - 1/13/06
On Top For Once
The Pheromones were back at Finn McCool's, this time as the headlining act. Most of the members were recovering from injuries; Brian had a concussion and Linzi had a blown-out knee. Denison, a punk-metal group, opened and played without their grounded drummer; a friend of the Pheromones stepped in and played very well on short notice. Great for them, but not my kind of music. The Down Boys were next and entertained well. Then it was the Pheromones turn to shine, injuries and all, and they pulled through with a nice show. Pat played on all the songs this time and it was great to finally hear the full sound again. Linzi pulled out her new guitar for the second half of the show but it wasn't quite broken in yet, leading to a bit of adjustment delay before she could play it. The sound mix was a little off after that. It was great to hang out, as always, and meet some new people. I didn't think there was a better group of people I wanted to see at my first concert of the year.
