John and Peter's - 10/14/05
Carrying On
Mouth Of Wilson were back at John and Peter's and once again were opening for guitarist/keyboardist Joe Edwards's other group Strawdogs. Stepping in for the injured Brian for half of the set was producer Michael Kianka who once backed up Dave Devlin on the very same stage. The rust showed on the first song he played on but other than that, he filled in nicely. This demonstrated that a third guitarist is vital to the group's sound. Next Strawdogs showed why they are on the marque. They seem right for John and Peter's with a mix of original and classic rock/pop which is a crowd-pleaser. Joe seems out of place with this band due to his younger age but his knowledge and writing fits them well.
